Jungle

JungleAdventure travel is at its best in Vietnam. Much of the country’s terrain is forested, which means jungle trekking in Vietnam is one of the preferred activities among tourists. The call of the wild is just too strong to ignore it.

Jungle trekking

Jungle trekking in Vietnam is one of the main activities for those interested in adventure holidays. You’ll be exploring uncharted territories while finding interesting information about the local flora and fauna. For those looking to stay active on their vacation and for those interested in something different than just soaking in the sun, jungle trekking in Vietnam is the best option to do something out of the ordinary.

Jungle trekking trails

One of the best areas for such adventures is the Sapa highlands in the northern part of Vietnam. You’ll be exploring rain forests, pine and bamboo forests, walk by crystal clear streams and even swim in beautiful waterfalls. Once in a while, a traditional village will pop out of the forest. Yes, don’t forget your camera!

The national parks of Vietnam are also filled with jungle trekking trails. Cuc Phuong National Park is the oldest in Vietnam and offers some of the most beautiful trails. Enjoy the local flora and fauna and explore your surroundings. Bach Ma National Park is an area of mountains, covered with tropical and sub-tropical forests.

Another nice area for jungle trekking is the Pleiku highland of central Vietnam. This is where you can take a peek at the customs and traditions of the local tribes. Virgin forests are at their best and it’s clear that modern life hasn’t reached this area yet.

Dalat is yet again another popular area for jungle trekking. Pine forests and vines make up the Pinhatt Mountain region, ideal to explore the unspoiled nature.

How can I do it?

The best way to enjoy a jungle trekking tour is to arrange it via one of the many travel agencies which offer such tours. There are hiking, biking or kayaking tours available. You can choose among different areas and terrains. Accommodation is included in the tour prices and generally you’ll have a lot of fun catching the food yourself.

The national parks – such as Bach Ma and the Cuc Phuong - also offer trekking activities. Just make sure to ask around once you get there.
